At Whitney Portal, parked on the side of the road. I stopped at Whitney Portal on the way to Mono Lake. We drove around a while looking for a parking spot, and ended up having to park quite a ways down the road from the trail. Its a good thing that I parked there though, because I was able to get a nice scenic side view that would not have been possible in a lot.
