My 1999 740i parked next to my Dad's older 1993 740iL. The colors are similar except that his is a darker shade of blue, and the interior is tan instead of gray. His car was my inspiration; I wanted a Lexus GS300/400 until he brought that home. I had a chance to drive it for a week while he was away, and fell in in love with it. I went for a newer model though, mostly because I wanted the sport package.
