The Bruins had a successful showing on vault in the first rotation, earning a 49.175 after four stuck vaults. On bars, UCLA reclaimed the lead by posting a team total of 49.2. The Bruins ran into big problems on beam in the third rotation, with four falls on the event. Despite the setback on beam, UCLA closed strong on floor in the final rotation, scoring a meet-high 49.25. Kristina Comforte won the all-around with a career-best 39.525. Senior Kate Richardson was third with a 38.925 for her last home meet. |

Stanford
The Stanford Cardinals posted a dramatic a 195.950 - 195.150 victory over the Bruins, who have won four NCAA titles since 2000. The star for Stanford was sophomore Liz Tricase, who was featured this week in "Faces in the Crowd" in Sports Illustrated. For the third straight meet, Tricase posted a perfect 10.000 on Bars. Tricase had entered the week ranked second in the nation on Bars. The victory upped Stanford's record to 12-2 overall and 5-1 in the Pac-10. |
