Scenery
Our ride was very scenic, especially in the mountains on 33 and along the 150 around Lake Casitas. |

Phone
Pictures from my camera phone, some while riding. There aren't as many from the second day since I kept dropping it and got tired of having to find it and catch up with the group. I'm suprised it still works, especially after skidding across the road on a 30mph+ descent. Look at the pretty horsies! |

Not Riding
I struggled with a name for this gallery, until it came to me, this is when we were 'not riding'. We were either stopped for food or just hanging out. There seem to be lots of pictures of me shoving food in my face; I think I spent more time eating than riding. Oh yeah, and I crashed trying to catch up to the group; you can see road rash on my elbow and hip. |

Homestretch
We are almost home, less than 20 miles to go! I led the charge up Ortega Hill and got no challenge. On the descent I realized how messed up my front wheel was after my crash. In the last pictures we are turning into Peet's for the last few feet, the final homestretch. |

Fess Parker Winery
We stopped for lunch (a.k.a. Carbo Loading) at the Fess Parker Winery. They were nice enough to let us use their bathrooms, we just had to take our shoes off outside so that our cleats wouldn't be on their floors. |

Buckhorn Diner
Dinner and breakfast in the diner at the Buckhorn Motel. Most importantly there was beer; Firestone was the drink of choice for several but Kim had to have her Long Island Iced Tea. I think we impressed the locals there with how far we had come and how much food we packed away. Highlights include Atomic Frog Balls, and the great expression on Sean's face as he walked by as I demonstrated my camera's high speed drive. |

Cuyama & the Buckhorn Motel
This small community of New Cuyama is located on Hwy. 166. A perfect stop over point for travelers heading north to coastal destinations. The restaurant is good home cooking & service is pleasant. Located in between the Los Padres National Forest Districts it is a nice place to realx on your drive to the over to the coast. |

Bikes
Bike porn. You know you wanna look. Check out the weave on Geoff's Tarmac, and Laurie's beautiful Colnago. That's my Giant, Damon's Kona, Jim's Merlin, Rick's Griffen, and Mondo's S-Works. |

State Route 33 (166 to Ojai)
We took State Route 33 down from the 166 shortly after leaving Cuyama, stopping at the Ozena fire station for a snack and pee break before the climb to Pine Mountain Summit (5,160 feet), followed by rolling terrain to our next stop at Rose Valley campgrounds. From there we had a screaming 12 mile descent into Ojai. |

State Route 154 (San Marcos Pass to Foxen Canyon)
Our ride started with a bang, as we all scurried up Old San Marcos and continued along the 154 over the San Marcos Pass and past Lake Cachuma to Foxen Canyon. We bypassed part of the highway at Kinevan, wrapping around past Cold Springs Tavern, crossing under the Cold Springs bridge, and popping back out at Stagecoach Road. We stopped briefly at the turnoff for Foxen Canyon before continuing on to the Fess Parker Winery for lunch. |

State Route 150 (Ojai to Carpinteria; Casitas Pass)
We took 150 from the 33 past Lake Casitas, and over Casitas Pass into Carpinteria. About 5 of us (including Mondo) had gotten a little bit ahead on the descent, so when we turned off we stopped to wait for everyone and make sure they made the turn. We enjoyed more beautiful scenery as we went around the lake and Kim got some great perspective shots standing on a guardrailas we passed by. In one of them you can see Sean signaling some crap on the side of the road... |
