Support Vehicles
Police, Mavic neutral support, team cars, marshalls, photo bikes, a helicopter and more. These are the vehicles of the caravan. |

Specialized Expo
They had a very interesting Tricross with laminated wood fenders on display at the Specialized booth. I discussed the merits of Mavic Ksyrium vs. American Classic and Rolf Prima wheels with one of the guys and Damon ran into a former neighbor. |

Race Photos
Taken from the top of San Marcos Pass, the riders zipped by with Levi Leipheimer in the lead for the KOM, followed by Riiccardo Ricco closely behind. The former lead group of Jens Voight, Sebastian Lang and Viatcheslav Ekimov were passed by Leipheimer & Ricco shortly before the top. Look for the brooms attached to the front of the broom wagon bringing up the rear. |

Miscellanea
We had quite a bit of time to kill waiting at the top of the pass for the riders to come through. I took pictures of passing cyclists to practice, and other things to kill time. |

Cervélo & Speedplay Expo
I had a chance to hold an R3 at the Cervélo booth at the finish line expo. That thing is crazy light--I want one, so hopefully I will win their contest. They also had Dave Zabriskie's crashed TT bike on display and a pair of Soloists to try out Speedplay Zero pedals. |

Bikes
There were a lot of bikes at the top of the pass. Mine is the black Specialized Allez in the granny gear. Sorry OCP weenies, I know I took the picture from the wrong side :P |

Specialized's Angel
The fabled Angel was reportedly sent from heaven to bless and protect the riders as they race across California. While many question her existence, or explain her appearances as delusions existing in the minds of dehydrated, over-exerted cyclists, the Specialized Angel is in fact real. A beautiful winged creature, she appears most often at the tops of long climbs, offering riders inspiration and a reward for making it to the top. While she seems to have a special place in her heart for cyclists on Specialized bikes and equipment, she shares her beauty and positivity with all cyclists, regardless of equipment, skills or cycling ability. That's me in the picture with her. |
