For the second day we started with breakfast at a cozy little place up the street from the motel, and then dressed and packed and headed out. Mondo had offered to drive for a bit so I could get a little riding in, so I kitted up (good thing I brought the bike…) and headed out with the group. I had been riding on the trainer and a few short rides outside so I didn’t think the shoulder/collarbone would be an issue. I didn’t have any pain, only mild discomfort at times and I took the descents very easy. I brought my pocket camera to take pictures but realized I didn’t feel stable enough only riding with my hurt arm so when we stopped halfway I handed it to Bill and he took some pictures while we rode. I was going to trade off driving with Mondo at that point, but Stewart volunteered to drive until Fess Parker’s winery, so that I could get more time in and he could avoid riding up the long grind of Foxen.
