I had dinner at the new Hollister Brewing Company in the Camino Real shopping center on Monday night after my evening ride out to carp and back. It was an intense ride and I was very hungry, and I read that they had Paninis… a match made in heaven.

Having learned that this had just opened, I stopped here for dinner at dusk after a nice long and intense ride. I thought that the service was good, but there were some snafu’s that I overheard for tables around me, and my order didn’t come quite as I had requested. The staff was very nice and sincere, and to me that is what is important. I’m sure that they will work out their opening kinks. The food was a bit on the expensive side, I had a Panini that was $9, and although it was good it was somewhat generic. It had a really good pesto sauce on it, but the bread could use some improvement and variety. I suggest that they work one of the local bakeries to source some interesting breads to select between.

Next up, the ironically named Downtown Brewing Company, located uptown, on upper State.
